TalkBox Studio Reservations
The TalkBox Studio is a sound-dampened space with public computer, multi-media tech & Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) hook-ups for online job interviews, telehealth meetings, tutoring sessions, webinars, proctored online exams, recording podcasts & videos, watching cable TV, quiet study, small-group (3-4 people max.) meetings & more!
- People age 18 and older may reserve the TalkBox Studio for up to five (5) hours at a time. The library reserves the right to make exceptions to this rule. Those who believe their usage scenario may qualify for an exception should contact the Somerset County Library Service Desk staff at 814-445-5907, option 1.
- There should be no more than four (4) people in the TalkBox Studio at any given time.
- Be sure to schedule adequate time for any required setup, testing, and clean-up.
- Limited staff assistance may be available. If you know you will need assistance, please be sure to request it on your reservation form.
- By placing a reservation to use TalkBox Studio, you agree to follow library rules and applicable laws, including the Public-Access Technology and Internet Acceptable Use Policy.
- At the end of your reserved time, please leave the TalkBox Studio in a timely manner and in the same or better condition as when you arrived.
- Somerset County Library reserves the right to reassign reservation time-slots if people fail to arrive within 15 minutes of their scheduled time. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel a reservation so that we can make the TalkBox Studio available for others to use.
The TalkBox Studio contains the following amenities:
- Height-adjustable desk
- 3 height-adjustable stools
- Adjustable can lights
- Adjustable exhaust/white noise fan
- Personal comfort fan for air circulation
- 32” monitor/Roku TV
- Comcast cable box & remote
- Standard public use computer
- Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) video adaptors to connect to KVM switch
- DVD/Blu-ray player
- Sliding glass door
- Sound-dampening panels on three walls
With advance notice, library staff may be able to supply you with any of the following additional amenities:
- Chair with back, not rolling
- Chair with back, rolling
- Computer with custom app such as those needed for specific proctored online exams (add Notes explaining need, allow time)
- Pod-casting equipment (minimum 3-week advance notice required, as this equipment must be borrowed from others)
