About Us

Somerset County Library serves residents of Somerset County. As headquarters of Somerset County Federated Library System, we operate Conemaugh Township Library and a county-wide Bookmobile service and cooperate with other libraries. Through print and online resources, public access technology, and community programs, your county library helps people meet the demands of life in the 21st century and reach their greatest potential.

Your county library circulates both print and digital items and can request other libraries’ items for you. Your library offers public use computers plus copying, scanning, faxing, Wi-Fi, and wireless printing services in a comfortable space where many come to read, complete puzzles, play board games or socialize with friends.  The Friends of Somerset County Library operate the Friends Cafe, which is located in a corner of the library and offers lunch and snack items and drinks for a small fee.  When the weather is nice, you may enjoy relaxing at a picnic table outside of the library while using the library’s free public access projectConnect Wi-Fi hotspot, which extends Somerset County Library’s Internet access into the parking lots.

Somerset County Library participates in PA Forward | Pennsylvania Libraries, partnering with businesses and organizations to help people strengthen five key literacies: basic, information, financial, health, and civic and social literacy. We are growing programs and services around these literacies to help move Somerset County forward. Program offerings include:
• Story Times, Fridays at 10 AM
• STEAM Clubs for ages 5-12, Mondays at 6 PM
• Personal Enrichment workshops Tuesdays at 6 PM, with topics like Financial Literacy, Job Search Skills, and Nutritious Cooking
