Genealogy & Local History
The Somerset County Library has a small collection of obituaries clipped from local newspapers, and we are in the process of converting some of those to a digital format. Access to the obituary clippings is staff-0nly at this time. Ask for assistance if you wish to use this collection.
Somerset County Library, Conemaugh Township Library branch and all other SCFLS consortium libraries have access to Ancestry Library Edition from inside our library buildings.
Ancestry® Library Edition is one of the most important genealogical collections available today. It has unparalleled coverage of the United States and the United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada, Europe, Australia and other areas of the world! Licensed for use inside the physical library buildings only. From a computer inside the main Somerset County Library or Conemaugh Township branch, click on the Ancestry desktop icon to access Ancestry Library Edition.
