SCFLS STEAM Initiative Summer Camps for ages 8 and up at additional locations: 

  • littleBits Coding at Meyersdale Public Library Monday, June 23 - Friday, June 27 from 10am to 12:30 pm
  • littleBits Coding at Windber Public Library Monday, July 14 - Friday, July 18 from 11am to 1:30 pm

SummerQuest LogoArt is around us...we only need to look for it! This year's theme builds on various types of art including photography, drawing and painting, fiber art and wearables, 3D art and decor, writing and storytelling, and performing arts. No matter what your interests are, you are sure to find something at the library! During SummerQuest 2025, we invite you to add some color to your world through reading! Complete quests to earn prizes while achieving your summer reading goals! SummerQuest offers activities for the following ages groups: 5 and under, 6-11, teens, and adults.

Thanks to generous support from the Friends of Somerset County Library, we present the 2025 SummerQuest Challenge!

Complete your free registration online at https://cutt.ly/SCLSummerQuest2025, pick up a print copy of the catalog at the library and return the form on the back, or call Somerset County Library at 814-445-5907 or the Conemaugh Township Library branch at 814-479-0766 to register.

  • Weekly SummerQuest Club meetings help participants make progress towards their SummerQuest Reading & Activity Challenge goals.
    • Fridays, June 20th -August 8th at 10 AM at Somerset County Library. (Please note that Somerset County activities will be taking place at the Somerset County Technology Center while we undergo renovations this summer.)
    • Wednesdays, July 2nd - July 30th at 10 AM at Turkeyfoot Lending Library thanks to the Somerset County Library ASAP! program.
    • Thursdays, June 26th - July 31st at 10 AM at Conemaugh Township Library.
  • Use the Beanstack App to help you track your reading and earn activity badges. Set up an account online for each participant so you are ready to go. https://scfls.beanstack.com 
  • Complete challenges to earn brag tags. Complete all challenges to be entered in the raffle for a grand prize for your age group
    • Preschool and Elementary kids can win the chance to choose a prize from Mindware up to a $50 value.
    • Teens and Adults can win a Kindle Fire Tablet

 

In addition to the SummerQuest Challenges we are pleased to offer Summer Youth Café! nutritious meals at no cost to you for anyone 18 years and under. Lunches are available at

  • Somerset County Technology Center on Fridays between 12 -1 PM from June 20-August 8, plus any day that we have scheduled a summer camp.
  • Meals are also available Monday evenings at Somerset County Library (June 23rd - August 4th) between 5-6 PM.
  • Lunches will be offered at Turkeyfoot Lending Library between 11 AM and 12 PM (Wednesdays, July 2nd - July 30th).
